Business English, ESL 0903

An advanced course for students who want to improve their communication in a business setting. The class focuses on English as it is used in international trade, finance, and marketing. Students practice listening and speaking skills (including voice mail), read and discuss business materials, and practice writing e-mail and business letters.

Course content and activities center around improving the production and perception of the sounds of the English language: individual sounds, rhythm, intonation, word and sentence stress, and linking phenomena in fast speech.

Spring 2013 Pronunciation Course

Pronunciation Improvement, ESL 3550/0950

A shorter version of ESL 3551/951, this seven-week course covers the areas that most students benefit from working on. The goal is to improve production and perception of the sounds of the English Language: individual sounds, rhythm, intonation, word and sentence stress, and linking phenomena in fast speech.

Professional English Communication for Non-native Speakers
