Conference Planning FAQ

Here are answers to some of the most common questions we receive from clients:

I am interested in the services that you provide. How much do they cost?

This is a common question and the answer is that it depends on how large your group is, what type of needs you have, and what your event planning timeline is. It is important that we meet with you to determine your needs, target audience, and event activity. We also cover the cost differential of providing services in your department vs. contracting with the College of Continuing Education. Our scalable and efficient services can save University department resources by being available as needed, instead of adding to your overhead expenses.

Can we use some of your services?

Yes. Our goal is to partner with you to provide cost-effective services based on your exact needs.

Do you only provide these services for events held on campus?

No. We can work with you to provide services for events held locally, statewide, nationally, and internationally.

What types of events do you manage?

The primary groups served by the College of Continuing Education include University of Minnesota-sponsored and co-sponsored events. However, we also plan, manage, and market national and international conferences along with ongoing short courses, workshops, and conferences. See our list of partners and sponsors.

What unique services do you offer?

The College of Continuing Education offers several unique services including:

  • Web-based registration system that simplifies collection of fees by check, credit card, and purchase order.
  • Web-based abstract collector tool that can manage the "Call for Abstracts" along with their review and publication.

When should I contact the College of Continuing Education?
