Split Rock Arts Program: Online Mentoring for Writers

WELCOME TO ONLINE MENTORING FOR WRITERS

Split Rock connects writers with outstanding mentors to provide individually tailored, constructive assistance with literary fiction, poetry, or creative nonfiction.  Our goal is to enable you to strengthen and sustain your writing, and complete your projects.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR NEEDS AS A WRITER
All writers — beginning, intermediate, or advanced — need constructive criticism on work in progress, whether it’s getting through a first draft or readying a manuscript for publication.

You may need a complement to workshops or conferences, you may need the individual consultation that a curriculum-based class can’t give you, or you may simply prefer one-on-one mentoring from an experienced writer and teacher.

As long as you have a specific project on which you want to work, Online Mentoring for Writers may benefit you. Thanks to our easy-to-use Web technology, you can work from the convenience of your home in flexible time frames that allow you to incorporate your writing into your life in sustainable ways.

A CHOICE OF MENTORS
It can be an intimidating task to find the right mentor. First, you must locate an experienced writer you feel you can learn from, and then you must be bold enough to approach that person. Online Mentoring for Writers eliminates these concerns by presenting a faculty of outstanding mentors, all of whom have taught at the Split Rock Arts Program over the past two decades.

You may choose to create a relationship with a writer whose approach to individual mentoring especially fits your needs, or you may have us choose your mentor for you.

A CHOICE OF MENTORSHIPS
After a no-obligation, modestly priced introductory exchange with your mentor called Groundwork, you may choose from three mentorships that offer three, six, or nine hours of your mentor's time.
