Heather Kossila began her professional career in controls engineering, designing and programming controls and touch panels. She also did consulting work for local architecture firms and was employed by Horty-Elving Architects. In 2007, Heather put her technical skills to use in the construction industry, specializing in Building Information Modeling (BIM). She is currently a senior BIM specialist with Kraus-Anderson Construction Company, where she explores and implements the use of cutting-edge technology in virtual design and construction in areas such as constructability analysis, trade coordination, estimating, and construction sequencing.
